Professional Development
Frederick Staff Celebrating During Our August Professional Development
Much of our training comes from the "train the trainer" school of thought. In this model, teachers teach and support each other around varying areas of expertise. This model has empowered teachers to go out and learn new skills and strategies to bring back to the staff.
During our before school professional development during the 2007-2008 school year teachers got together to create multimedia work that shows how we would turn our physical space into one that reflects our vision of Literacy 2014. Below, you will find one video. To find more, click on the files on the right with 2014 in the title.

Teacher As Trainer
Using our Frederick staff to train other teachers in and out of our building has created a sustainable culture of professional development. Here is a brief video of a teacher toolkit on integrating blogging in the classroom.
